What’s in it for you?
Industry resources and support
The CPC regularly liaises with Screen NSW, Film Victoria, the MEAA and Screen Australia, updating our members on key developments, announcements and interpretations relating to a broad range of issues that might impact our industry.
The CPC provides members with a customisable Standard Production Agreement – based on industry best practice and sound legal advice. Additionally, we have agreed on pitch cancellation/change fees and developed a letter for members to customise and send to their agencies.
Since the pandemic’s emergence, the CPC has also developed a suite of legal documents including an addendum to the SPA covering COVID-19 payment/contract details, on-set declarations as well as close proximity guidelines and location signage. More recently we have published the latest “best practice” guide for managing COVID-19, based on a member survey and feedback.
Issues negotiation and resolution
The CPC provides support across a broad range of issues of greatest importance for members.
There are two avenues for issue negotiation and resolution:
- The CPC’s quarterly committee meetings.
Join the CPC Co-Chairs, 20+ Executive Producers, and (if required) our legal counsel and industry expert, Digby Law on a quarterly basis so you can raise issues and discuss resolution as a committee. - Direct contact with the CPC.
Should you wish to discuss issues and advice separately, you can always contact the cpc@commercialproducerscouncil.org.au and advice will be sought for you
Legal consultation and discounted legal services
As a member of the CPC, you get direct access to Digby Law, which provides specialised legal, commercial and strategic advice for the media and entertainment, innovation and technology, communications and leisure sectors.
Since 2016, Digby Law has been a valued support to our national members and the emergence of COVID-19 in 2020 has seen Digby Law become an increasingly important partner for the CPC in very challenging times.
Included in CPC membership is a 1 x 15-minute telephone consultation and advice free of charge and thereafter discounted hourly rates for bespoke legal services from Digby Law.

Sustainability resources
Due to the mounting pressure on climate change activity and the enveloping weather patterns directly impacting our shoot schedules, there is no doubt we need to be more sustainable in our practices.
The CPC has developed a number of resources for members to access and provide regular updates to all members.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
To drive progress on inclusion and belonging, the CPC are committed to helping to establish opportunities where diverse employees are included, heard and supported to achieve their full potential.
CPC members are invited to attend all the Create Safe Space action webinars (which are based off the ACA’s Create Space Census findings) and are able to access all previous recorded webinars and resources.
Cultural Capability Training
As a CPC member you are able to access ACA’s Cultural Capability Training through Blackcard Training.
These sessions help attendees gain an understanding of the importance of storytelling in Aboriginal culture, become familiar with the core principals within Aboriginal Terms of Reference, and will put them into practice as part of a workshop that explores various scenarios that can arise within an agency. Importantly, the program will assist CPC members to ensure their workplace and shoots are a safe and productive workplace for Aboriginal employees.
We also have a CPC member that sits on the ACA Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) committee, so we are able to access and share information more readily with our members after committee meetings.
Access to ACA industry reports
From large-scale, bespoke industry analyses to exclusive members-only reports, the ACA invests in a range of reports to demonstrate the value of advertising to the Australian community and economy.
CPC members are invited to join launch webinars and are able to access the following ground-breaking industry reports free of charge:
